Lisa’s Macedonia


Some of Lisa’s best memories are of eating peaches from Nonantola, a town northeast of Modena where her parents’ friends had a vast peach grove and farm. While vacationing at Forte dei Marmi together in Versilia on the Tuscan coast, these peaches would be served as part of a decadent macedonia, or Italian fruit salad. The perfect way to end a rich summer feast al fresco, enjoy this recipe from Lisa’s Italian Kitchen! Lisa’s Macedonia Ingredients:

4 apples, peeled and cubed

4 peaches, cubed

2 large bunches of grapes, each grape sliced in half

8 apricots, cubed

1 ½ pint of blueberries

2 lemons

¼ cup sugar


Lisa’s Macedonia Directions:

Toss all the fruit together. Squeeze the juice of two lemons on top. Mix well. Pour the sugar on top, mix again. Enjoy!
