But because you’ve been racing around all day, you haven’t had time to make anything, let alone a meat sauce that everyone craves and would love. The answer? Lisa’s 20 minute Bolognese sauce! Simmer for 20 minutes, and it’s the Sunday dinner (or even weeknight treat) that everyone will love. Buon appetito e tutti a tavola!

Lisa’s 20 minute Bolognese Sauce Ingredients:

20 minute bolognese sauce


½ cup chopped white onions
¼ cup chopped garlic
½ cup chopped carrot
½ cup chopped celery
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 lbs ground beef (80/20)
2 – 2 ½ cups smooth San Marzano tomatoes
¾ cup vegetable stock
1 – 1 ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground sea salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper


Lisa’s 20 minute Bolognese Sauce Directions:

Melt the EVOO and butter together and pour in chopped veggies. Sauté for 10 minutes until soft and translucent.

Add ground meat and sauté until thoroughly cooked with the olive oil, butter, and vegetables.

Add San Marzano tomatoes, vegetable stock, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Sauté over medium heat for 20 minutes with the lid on. Serve with pappardelle and pasta of your choice.
